Marie Varner

Marie Cooper Varner, beloved member of the Lexington, NC community, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on Saturday, June 17th, 1939, Marie lived a life rooted in kindness, dedication, and service.

She was the cherished daughter of Clyde Davis Cooper and Martha Faydene Cooper, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was the love of her life, Johnnie Mack Varner, Brother, Clyde Gerald Cooper. Surviving are 2 nieces, Ann House (Grady). Brenda Davis (C.W.), nephew Danny Cooper, sister in-law Rachel Cooper, 6 great nephews and 2 great nieces. Marie carried forward their values and principles throughout her life, making a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Marie was a dedicated bookkeeper, a profession she pursued with meticulous attention and passion. She served for an impressive 46 years at Mount Castle Insurance Company, where her contributions were invaluable. Marie graduated from Ashemore Business College, which laid the foundation for her successful career and demonstrated her commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

Beyond her professional life, Marie was known for her warm spirit and generosity. She touched the lives of many, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. Her community and colleagues knew her as a pillar of reliability and kindness.

Marie's life will be honored and celebrated Monday, July 14, 2025 at 11:00 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Luck and Rev. Paula Wells officiating.  Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  Interment will be following the service at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of dedication, love, and generosity lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Marie will always be remembered fondly and dearly missed.
