Marie Truell Ward

Marie Mangum Truell Ward, 84, formerly of W. Third Avenue, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Carolina House of Lexington. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 18 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Tommy Wilson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Ms. Ward was born January 19, 1928 in Rowan County to Henry Logan Mangum, Sr. and Blanche Andrews Mangum. She retired after 20 years of service from United Furniture Company, later Burlington House Furniture and was a member of First Baptist Church. Her husband, Jack B. Truell, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Tom Truell and wife, Stephanie, of Thomasville and David Truell and wife, Karen, of Rock Hill, SC; her daughter, Jackie Butler and husband, Henry of Supply, NC; her granddaughter, Jennifer Haney and husband, Jon; her grandson, Creighton Truell; and her great granddaughter, Natalie Speer.
