Marie Owen Yarbrough

Marie Owen Yarbrough, age 81 of West Fifth Avenue, Lexington died Friday night in Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Holloway’s Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Craig Barnhill and Rev. Scott Williams and burial will follow in Holloways Baptist Church Cemetery. Marie was born in Davidson County, March 19, 1926 to George Franklin Owen, Sr. and Frankie Wall Owen. She was a homemaker and a member of Holloways Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William “Bill” Yarbrough and brother George F. Owen, Jr. Surviving are: Daughter; Mitzi Dawson and husband Joe of Lexington, 2 Grandchildren Nicole Hellard and husband Todd and David Sain, 2 Great-Grandchildren; Cheyenne Hellard and Mackenzie Sain; Sisters; Jewel Dean Hunt and Nancy Darr both of Lexington; brothers Luther Owen of Denton and O’Neil Owen of Lexington. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter Mitzi Dawson, 1394 Floyd Church Road.
