Marilee Cain Cockrum age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at The Oaks at Forsyth . A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
Mrs. Cockrum was born in Forsyth County to Stamie Lee Cain and Natalie Wooten Cain. She lived her life as a devoted wife, mother and daughter. Prior to her career as a homemaker she was employed at Hanes Hosiery. She graduated from Mineral Springs High School. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Jane Cockrum; a sister, Mildred Livingston; and a brother, Carroll Wooten.
Surviving are the love of her life since 5th grade, her husband, James Otis Cockrum Sr. of the home, her sons; Steven Cockrum and wife Priscilla of Mt. Airy, James O. Cockrum Jr. of Winston Salem. Her daughters; Lynn Snyder and husband Jim of Mocksville, Jeanne Spach and husband Edwin of Advance, Barbara Haralson and husband Bill of Greensboro. Her brother; S.L. Cain and wife Shirley of Indiana. Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
