Marilyn Walser Craver

December 17, 1937 — November 12, 2021

Donna Marilyn Walser Craver, 83, of Lexington, N.C. passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Alston Brook Nursing Home in Lexington, N.C. Born December 17, 1937, in Lexington, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Alvin R. Walser and Grace Koontz Walser. Marilyn graduated from Reeds High School in 1956 where she was Class Valedictorian, Class Vice President, chief cheerleader and held other school positions. She attended UNCG. On December 23, 1956 she married David Homer Craver and they were married for 60 years until his death in 2017. Over the years she worked for Western Electric, Dr. Carlton Mock, Davidson County Schools, and Patient Relations at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Best of all she was Momma. Her and Daddy provided her three children with a happy childhood, she dearly loved and was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Reeds United Methodist Church where she was the choir director, church pianist and played the organ. She also served the church in many other capacities. She is survived by, son, David A. “Tonte” Craver (Terry), daughter, Mitzi Craver Tysinger (Patrick), son, Phillip Walser Craver (Amy), all of Lexington, N.C.; her six grandchildren, Dr. Alexander R. Craver (Amelia), Andrea Craver Hurt (Chase), Brooke Stogner Miller, Au.D. (Adam), Jordan Stogner Lanham (Joe), Elizabeth “Lolly” Tysinger (Bradley) and Seth Phillip Craver; two step grandchildren, Kelsey James (Luke) and Lindsay Davison (Dillon) ten great grandchildren, Rowan Craver, Emory Craver, Jett Hurt, Lilah Lanham, Joseph Lanham, Evie Lanham, Liam Miller, Emersyn Yates, and two twin great grandchildren due in February; three step great grandchildren, Aiden Lanham, Hudson James, and Grayson Hampton; one brother, Dr. Wesley Max Walser (Peggy) of Lexington, N.C. She was preceded in death besides her husband by her parents and sister Penelope Anne Walser Bailey. A reception and celebration of her life with family and friends will be held at Reeds United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at a date to be announced in the future after Covid is gone. There will be a private family graveside funeral service held at Reeds United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Alston Brook for being so good to our Momma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, American Heart Association or Reeds United Methodist Church.
