Marilyn Ann White died peacefully at home on April 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on December 7, 1930, to her parents; Linne and Bertha Olson. Marilyn retired from the Fairfax County School System where she worked for many years as a school secretary after being a homemaker and working at the CIA. After her retirement, Marilyn and her husband (Ed) relocated to Southern Pines, NC where they enjoyed playing golf. Later, they relocated to Winston-Salem, NC where she resided until after Ed’s death. Most recently she resided in Clemmons, NC with her daughter, Donna. Marilyn was an active member of the Oak Forest United Methodist Church and for many years participated in United Women of Faith activities. Marilyn was a wonderful baker. She loved to make cakes and pies for those making chicken pies at her church and other special occasions for both church and family members. She had deep faith and love for each member of her family and was the happiest whenever they were with her.
She is survived by her three daughters; Donna White of Clemmons, NC, Debra LeBlanc of Colfax, NC, and Diane Davis and her husband Barrett of Concord, NC; five grandchildren; Kimberly Jacobs and her husband, Craig, Jason White, Theodore LeBlanc IV, Sean LeBlanc, and his wife Aleah, and Devin LeBlanc; and seven great-grandchildren; Kurtis Jacobs, Evan Jacobs, Allison Jacobs, Summer White, Ethan Gentry, Lyla LeBlanc, and Mia LeBlanc. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother Curtiss Olson, her sister Vivian Gleason and her twin sister Merlyn Smith. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was an amazing mother, (Gramma) grandmother, (GiGi) great-grandmother, and friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Marilyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Forest United Methodist Church in Winston Salem, NC. The family will receive visitors in the Family Life Center at the church at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
