Marion Elliott Pearce

Marion Elliott Pearce, age 81 of Alston Brook Nursing Home, passed away Friday night at Lexington Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday (June 11, 2014) at First United Methodist Church with Revs. Kelley Groce and Doug Rowe officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton.  The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night. Marion was born in Camden County, NC July 13, 1932 to George Ira and Sadie Whitner Pearce. He was a retired teacher for Randolph County School System having taught at Farmer School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Chancel Choir and was former Choir Director at Central United Methodist Church in Denton. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ellawese Hamilton Pearce in 1982. Surviving are his daughters; Angela Constantino (Frank) of Boone and Teresa Pearce of Lexington; brothers, Rev. H. Worth Pearce (Betty) of Hickory and Ira W. Pearce (Mary) of Charlotte.
