Marion Jeanette Hill Vanhoy, 74, of Vanhoy Drive, died suddenly Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Revs. Wade Powell, Donald Lowe and Lester Hulin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home.
Mrs. Vanhoy was born February 20, 1938, in Davidson County, to Harmon L. Hill and Ella Allen Hill. She was a homemaker and married to Bobby Vanhoy who preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by son, Michael Allen Vanhoy.
Surviving are son, Tommy Dean Vanhoy of Denton; daughters, Lucy Woods, Karen Martin and Sally Stevenson, all of Denton; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Claude Hill of Morehead City, Thurman Hill and Dan Hill, both of Lexington; two sisters, Hilda Surratt and Dot Tysinger, both of Lexington.
