Mark Goforth Elmore, age 51 of Swans Way, Lexington passed away Monday evening at Hinkle Hospice House.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jamie Armstrong and Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. The family extends to family and friends a time of celebration and reflection at their home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday.
Mark was born in Gaston County, NC October 14, 1962 to Charles Douglas Elmore and Jane Goforth Elmore. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from West Davidson High School in 1980; received his BS in Industrial Relations from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1984 and was a marching Tar Heel. He was previously the owner of Elmore Machine Tools, Inc. and most currently he was the Executive Vice President of Morris South in Charlotte.
Surviving are his wife, Mimi Holman Elmore of the home; daughter, Blake Alexandra Elmore of the home; sisters, Gini Elmore Chauncey and Molly Green (Michael); brother, Charles Douglas Elmore, Jr. (Kathy); nieces, Kristin Elmore, Hannah and Sarah Green; nephew, Kenneth Elmore (Ryne); great-nephew, Luke Douglas Elmore.
