Mark Steven Everhart

Mark Steven Everhart, 59, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026.

Mark was born in Lexington and grew up off Hill Everhart Road, where he built the roots and relationships that stayed with him throughout his life.

Mark graduated from North Davidson High School in 1984. He spent his working years as a car salesman and maintenance man, roles that fit his hands-on nature and love for all things mechanical. Cars weren’t just transportation to Mark; they were a passion. He especially loved admiring old cars, rebuilding dune buggies and caring for his most prized possession, his green 1979 Corvette.

A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Mark could often be found cheering them on, but his greatest talent was making people laugh and the warmth he brought into every room. Time spent with him felt easy, familiar and genuine, something friends and family will forever treasure. His humor, kindness and easygoing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Curry Everhart, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Mark leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory; his father, Charles “Pete” Everhart; brother, Chad Mitchell Everhart; nephews, Austin Mitchell Everhart and Mason Ray Spaugh; niece, Morgan Emma Spaugh; great niece, Josie Lynn Spaugh and several cousins who loved him dearly.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held later. Details of that celebration will be shared when they are available.
