Mark William Shankle, 66, of Hunt Road, Lexington, died Saturday morning at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at DAvidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Shankle was born in Guilford County on July 3, 1941, to Mark WArren Shankle and Snowdean Hester Shankle. He was a retired employee of Henredon Furniture, a lover of nature and God's creation, and spent many hours enjoying his home on the lake with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Payne Shankle of Lexington; daughters, Markie Shankle Owens and husband, Perry, of Lexington, and Leigh Shankle and partner Crystal Hunt, of Winston-Salem; grandson, Nicolas Owens; brothers, Phillip Shankle of Randleman, Alan Shankle of Archdale, Ricky Shankle of Thomasville; and sisters, Christine Ridge of Archdale, Jean Shively of Thomasville, Alice Zimmerman, Kay Hefner and Wanda Farlow, all of Trinity.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday prior to the service, and other times at the home on Hunt Road.
