Mark Sylvester

Mark Alan Sylvester, 52, of Green Meadows Drive, died Wednesday, January 02, 2013, at Duke University Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday January 5, 2013 at Holloways Baptist Church, where he was a member,by the Rev. Dana Slack and Buddy Michael. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home at other times. Mr. Sylvester was born May 1, 1960 in Mercer County W. Virginia to Fred and Ruby Tiller Sylvester. He was an Engineer with Norfork Southern Railroad and honorably served his country in the US Navy. His parents and two infant sisters, Valerie and Rene` preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Melinda Harris Sylvester of the home; his sons, Devin Sylvester of New York and Zachary Sylvester of Charlotte; his daughter, Shannan Sylvester of Lexington; his grandchildren, Xander, Gianna and Laylah; and his brothers, Mickey Sylvester of W.
