Lynne Hamilton Chambers, 75, of Elkview, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. Born on March 27, 1951, in Davidson County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hamilton and Edna Mann Hamilton.
Lynne was a hardworking and determined woman who spent many years owning and operating an auto repair and towing business alongside her husband, Bill Chambers. She was known for her strong spirit, helping hand, plain-spoken nature, and a personality that was as driven “like a machine.” Lynne lived life on her own terms and never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Reed Hamilton, and her sister, Robbin Tester.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Bill; son, Ray Scarbro Jr.; daughters, Andria Cline, Lisa Goodwin, and Tiffany Sowards; brother, Coy Hamilton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-daughters on the way.
Lynne enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved gardening, riding side-by-sides through the great WV mountains and creating the most beautiful crotched blankets for her babies.
Mawmaw Lynne’s strength, humor, and unmistakable spirit will be deeply missed by all of her “adopted” children, grandchildren and everyone who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Lynne’s memory by helping someone in need, offering a kind gesture, or supporting a neighbor or friend during a difficult time like Lynne would do.
