Martha Gregg Hedrick age 69, of Sidney Street, Lexington, died Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Lexington Health Care.
The funeral will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Revs. Kaye Fry, and Randy Foster. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery
Mrs. Hedrick was born August 27, 1939, in Davidson County, to George Howard Gregg and Leota Kepley Gregg. She had work for Ingles Foods and Bi Lo before retiring and was a previous employee of Wennonah Cotton Mills. Mrs. Hedrick and her husband enjoyed traveling, and working craft shows. She was a wonderful cook who was known for her famous “light rolls”, and had a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard Lee Hedrick, who died November 25, 2005; her sons, Speedy Thompson, Don Thompson and Kenny Hedrick; and her two brothers; Howard Glenn “Buck” Gregg and Wayne Gregg.
Surviving are her son, Rickey Hedrick and wife Joyce of Lexington; a daughter, Gail Hill and husband, Tom, and Cathy Bowman and husband, Nathan, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Eric Hale and wife, Jo, Mickey Hale, Kevin Hale and wife, Kelly, Robbie Hale, Erin Hill, Thomas Hill and Megan MacDonald; 3 great grandchildren, Chase Hale, Ashley Hale and Jacob Hale; her sister, Margaret Brown of Lexington, a special friend and heartfelt sister; Ann Fortner of Lexington, and special friends, Gus and Rosa Lozano of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter Gail Hill on Pinnix Dr., Lexington.
