It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Hedrick Moore, who departed from this world on August 4, 2025, in Lexington, NC, just shy of her 86th birthday. Born on August 20, 1939, in NC, Martha lived a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished moments.
Martha dedicated her life to her family, always putting them first. She created a warm and loving home, where holidays together were extremely important. Her family was her world, and she found joy in their company. Her friends were her family too.
Martha, a secretary in the industry, brought diligence and care to her professional life. While her career was important, it was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that truly defined her. The 23rd Psalm was a source of comfort and strength in her life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. Martha is survived by her beloved spouse, James “Pete” Moore, daughter, Felicia Moore Sherman (Nelson), and son, Danny Moore. Her memory will be treasured by her grandchildren: Matthew Scott Moore, Grace Elizabeth Moore Jonasson (Koby), Jack Sherman (Lauren), Chris Moore (Ashlyn), and Josh Moore. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Jacob Moore, Weston Moore, Easton Moore, Rush Sherman, Navy Grace Jonasson and granddaughter in-law, Annie Moore. She is preceded in death by her parents Sanford Matthew Hedrick Sr. and Thelma Louise Austin Hedrick, her beloved son Matthew Moore, and grandson Jason Moore.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held at 1:00 PM to 2:00 pm on Friday, August 08, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. A Celebration of Life will follow at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 08, 2025 with Pastor Mark Rachels officiating. Following the service, Martha will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Martha's warmth, commitment to her family, and the countless memories she created will forever be etched in our hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
