Martha Latham Leonard, 74, of Welcome Bethesda Road, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center following declining health of 10 years.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dennis Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.
Mrs. Leonard was born August 27, 1936, in Davidson County, to Harvey Latham and Sadie Weaver Latham. She was a retired cook from Liberty House Nursing Center and a member of the Susanna Wesley Class at her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gail Leonard; brothers, Foy Latham and Wade Latham, Shamell Latham, Robert Latham, and Austin Latham; and sisters, Mildred Hart and Jean Rummage.
Surviving are her husband and best friend of 56 years, Jimmy B. Leonard; daughter, Vickie Beeson and husband, Richard, of Welcome; grandson, Jason Leonard and wife, Candra, of Welcome; brothers, Williard Latham and Jack Latham, both of Welcome; and sisters, Lucille Queen of W. Virginia, Lila Barnes and husband, Ralph, Katherine Michael, all of Lexington, Irene Barnes of Welcome.
