Martha Lee Rhodes

Martha Lee Barnes Rhodes, 84, of Woodcrest Drive, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell 3rd and Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church parlor. Mrs. Rhodes was born November 5, 1927, in Mecklenburg County to Clay Barnes and Cleo Brown Barnes. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rhodes; and son, Richard Clay Rhodes. Surviving are a son, Chris Rhodes of Hickory; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mark, Clay and Kristin; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Peggy Gearhart of Allentown, Pa.
