Martha Seals

Martha Jane Hayes Seals, 77, of Brookstone Retirement Center, died Tuesday, September 06, 2011, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, at Beck’s Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Gerald Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Seals was born September 22, 1933, in Randolph County, to Reginald Donald Hayes and Ellen Hazeline Ray McAdams. She enjoyed writing letters, playing Bingo with her friends and especially spending time with family on holidays. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Reginald Donald Hayes, Jr., and her sisters, Peggy Hayes Briggs and Lois Hayes Pettigrew. Surviving are sons, Gary Seals and wife, Amanda, of Charlotte, and Kim Seals and wife, Judy, of South Carolina; daughters, Deborah Grigg of Walkertown and Sandra White of Burlington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a sister in law, Ruth Hayes.
