Marvin "Cotton" Lindsey Leonard

July 11, 1931 — February 18, 2011

Marvin Lindsey “Cotton” Leonard, 79, of Rockcrusher Road, died Friday, February 18, 2011, at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation and Care Center, following several years of declining health. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Holloways Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Craig Barnhill officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Leonard was born July 11, 1931, in Davidson County, to Roosevelt Henry Leonard Sr. and Myrl Ruark Leonard. He was a supervisor at PPG Industries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nadean Leonard; brother, Joe Miller; and sisters, Rachel Tetter and Betty Leonard. Also surviving are his wife, Geneva Tester Leonard of the home; daughter, Dee Leonard Burnette and husband, Dana, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; grandchild, Reagan Lindsey Burnette; brother, R.H. Leonard of Lexington; and sisters, Sara Beanblossom and husband, Bob, Marsha Lemly and husband, Donnie, all of Lexington, and Evelyn Eagle of Rixeyville, Va. Memorials may be made to Holloways Baptist Church Building Fund, 131 Briggs Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
