Marvin Thorton Kearns, Jr.

Marvin Thorton Kearns, Jr., age 47, peacefully passed away on March 14, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday March 19th, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Pastor Mike Orman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Marvin was born on October 24th, 1976, in Davidson County, to Marvin Kearns Sr. and Katie Kearns. Marvin was employed as a supervisor for Atrium Windows and Doors, where he dedicated himself to his work with diligence and passion. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitments to leadership.

Marvin loved to play golf alongside his dad, going to the beach to surf fish, he loved cracking jokes and making people laugh, taking his nieces hidden candy, picking on his little sister all in good heart, and cooking out with his brother-in-law David. He also enjoyed doing yard work. He was a family man, his passion was his family, his two daughters Aubree and Alivia was his world. He loved teaching them new things, playing soft ball in the yard, and playing on the slip n slide with them during the summer.

Marvin was a loving wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who will be missed by all.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his nephew Conner David Freedle.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving mother Katie Sholtz Kearns, the two loves of his life, his daughters Aubree and Alivia Kearns, his cherished sister Amanda Leigh Freedle and husband David, his adored niece Ashley Faith Hammer and husband Derek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marvin’s name to Love Of God Baptist Church of Thomasville NC a cause that is close to heart.

The staff at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is honored to be serving the Kearns’ family during this difficult time, offering comfort and support.
