Marvin James Tysinger, 84, of Frye Bridge Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home by Pastors Allen Smith and Paul Holbrook. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Tysinger was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Davidson County to Edward Tysinger and Mary Emma Bailey Tysinger. He was a pattern maker for Thomasville Furniture, retiring after 32 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing the banjo and was known for playing at churches, nursing homes and senior centers. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Josephine Lopp Tysinger; three brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his loving wife, Wanda Hill Tysinger of the home; son James Lee Tysinger; Wanda's children, Terri Williamson and husband Ricky and Fredrick Keith Myers; brother Ed Tysinger and Albert Tysinger, both of Lexington; and sister Louise Wilson.
