Mary Alice (Mickey) Clark Barnhill Beam

Mary Alice "Mickey" Clark Barnhill Beam, 68, of Libertywood Nursing Home, formerly of Lexington, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Thomasville Medical Center after several years of declining health. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lexington City Cemetery by the Rev. Stewart Schultz. Mrs. Beam was born in Gaston County on April 30, 1937, to Emmitt Waitman Clark and Lula Edith Self Clark. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Anita Carol Barnhill. Surviving are her husband, Troy Beam of the nursing home; two sons, Doug Barnhill and Randy Barnhill, both of Lexington; one daughter, Tracie Leonard and her husband, Timothy, of Linwood; three grandchildren, Andrew Leonard, Alisha Leonard and Pamela Cook; and two sisters, Shirley Medlin and Lois Whistnant, both of Newton. There will be no formal visitation. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter at 10688 Highway 150 South.
