Mary Bell

Mary Jane Green Bell, 85, of Old US Highway 52, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House, following an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with the Rev. Darrell Cartrette and Pastor Jonathan Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the funeral home. Mrs. Bell was born August 3, 1925, in Delaware County, In., to Rufus Samuel Green and Alice Norris Green. She was known to many as Grandma Bell at Walmart where she was employed as a greeter. Mrs Bell was a member of Mt. Carmel Freewil Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leonard Bell. Surviving are her sons, Robert Bell and wife, Charleston, of Tennessee and Larry Bell and wife, Bridgette, of Salisbury; daughters, Jacklyn “Jackie” Adams of Lexington, Theresa “Teri” Stowe and husband, Don, of California, Peggy Bell of Albemarle, and Belinda Raphael and husband, Milton, of Virginia; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
