Mary Kate Stallard Billings, 77, of Southview Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with the Revs. Brian D. Alexander and Billy Sloop officiating. Burial will follow in Cotton Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Penny Leonard at 840 Floyd Church Road.
Mrs. Billings was born July 28, 1932, in Scott County, Va., to Lawrence and Ora Stallard. She was a retired PPG Employee after 30 years of service. She was known for baking red velvet and cream cheese pound cakes. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.
Those dearly loved by Mary who will miss her the most are her husband of 56 years, Clyde Billings; her daughter, Penny, wife of Doug Leonard, who loved her with all their heart; a grandson, Dustin, who she loved dearly; a sister, Margie Good and brother-in-law, Joe Good, of Gate City, Va.; brother, Larry Stallard and wife, Mary, of Kingsport, Tn.; Janet Money, wife of Gene Money, who was like a daughter and Donna M. Scarlett and Kristi M. Houser, who were like granddaughters; and five precious great-grandchildren, Madison, Abby, Seth, Josiah, and Marianne, who was named after Mary. She also had a very special nephew who she loved like a son, Billy Joe Good of Kingsport, Tenn. She also loved all her nieces and nephews and their families very much.
