Mary "Bonnie" Louise Shinn

April 11, 1931 — February 13, 2010

Mrs. Mary Louise “Bonnie” Amburn Shinn, 78, of Junior Order Home Road, died Saturday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after declining health of six months. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 16 at Cotton Grove United Methodist Church by the Revs. Ed Armfield, Jr. and Don Nobblitt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son on W. Center Street Extension, Lexington. Mrs. Shinn was born April 11, 1931 in Surry County to Dennis and Beulah Amburn. She was a former employee of PPG and a member of Cotton Grove United Methodist Church. Her husband, James Franklin Shinn, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Jim Shinn, and wife, Marilyn, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Lisa Childers and husband, Kenny, and Justin Shinn; and her sister in law, Mrs. Calvin Taylor of Huntersville. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292 or to Cotton Grove United Methodist Church, 175 Jersey Church Road, Lexington NC 27292.
