Mary Elliott Bost

Mary Jane Elliott Bost, 82, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Pine Ridge Assisted Living.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am prior to the service at the church and meet at the home of David and Karen Elliott following the service on Wednesday. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are encouraged.

Mrs. Bost was born on May 8, 1938 in Rowan County to Sam Elliott and Evelyn Almond Elliott. She worked in the spinning room at Parkdale Mills and was a member of Madison Heights FWB Church. Mrs. Bost was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Kenneth” Bost; two brothers, Gene Elliott and George Elliott; two sisters, Ruth Byerly and Jonsie Cordell; and a granddaughter, Kinsley Bost.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Kenny Bost (Nikkie) of Winston Salem and David Elliott (Karen) of Lexington; a step-daughter, Lisa Bost of FL; four brothers, P.W. Elliott, John Elliott (Nancy), Rev. Leroy Elliott (Louise) and Everette Elliott (Kaye); five sisters, Elsie Burnette (Dennis), Eva Mae Everhart, Doris Morrison (Wayne), Nancy Wargo and Margie Church; four grandchildren, Shane Hunt (Melissa), Christopher Elliott (Shannon), Seth and Haley Bost, a sweet granddaughter, Keelyn Nicole Bost on the way; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Mason, Riley and Marley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her niece, who was more like a daughter, Sherry Morrison Byerly for her loving care for Mrs. Bost.
