Mary Helon Junkins Brewer

Mary Helon Junkins Brewer, 87, of Mayfair Road, died Sunday, June 19 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 27 at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Frankie Matthews and Madgy Ghabbour officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Brewer was born November 26, 1923 in Guilford County to William Clarence Junkins and Effie Mae Williams Junkins. She retired from Food World and was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, her brother, William Junkins; sisters, Edna Powell, Hazel Gunter, and Evelyn Smith; and her great granddaughter, Helena Paige Flippen, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Brewer of the home; son, David Brewer and wife, Valeria, of Virginia; brother, Eugene Junkins, and wife, Pansy, of Lexington; sister, Betty Bean of Lexington; grandchildren, Meredith Powell and husband, Spencer, and Claire Flippen and husband, Kevin, both of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Tyler Powell, Kennedy Powell, and Samantha Flippen, all of Virginia; adoptive son, Madgy Ghabbour and wife, Elaine, with their children, Christie, Joshua, and Annalisa of Oxford, Mi. Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, Baptist Equipping Nationals, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington NC 27292.
