Mary Lou Biesecker Briggs, 78, formerly of NC Hwy 8, died Friday, February 06 at Lexington Health Care after declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 9 at Stoners Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Billy Pearson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 PM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Scott, on Keely Lane, Lexington.
Mrs. Briggs was born August 25, 1936 in Davidson County to Roby Lee Biesecker and Eldora Crotts Biesecker. She and her husband, Jimmy, managed Cook’s Barbecue for more than 28 years. She was an avid collector of antiques and cookie jars and loved spoiling her grandchildren. Her husband; a brother, Sonny Biesecker; and her brother in law, William Coppley, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindi Rathbone and husband, Greg, of Stokesdale; her sons: Scott Briggs and wife, Amy, and Phil Briggs and wife, Kim, both of Lexington; her sisters, Barbara Noor and husband, Robert, and Linda Coppley, all of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Zack Briggs, Skyler Briggs, Caleb Briggs, and Leigha Briggs.
