Mary Grace Swing Chapman

Mary Grace Swing Chapman, 82, of NC Highway 47, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at her home following a one month illness. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Beck’s Reformed Church with the Rev. Stan Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of her son on Burkhart Road. Mrs. Chapman was born May 11, 1930, in Davidson County, to Crawford Lee Swing and Tempie Elizabeth Younts Swing. She was a homemaker and a member of Becks Reformed Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leeland Lee “Junior” Chapman, who died August 2009; and sisters, Maxine Leonard, Gertrude Swing, Rachel Penninger, Frances Parks, and Inez Troutman; brothers, Dolan Swing, Bill Swing, and Dallas Swing. Surviving are her son, Dean Chapman and wife, Toni, of Lexington; grandchildren, Anna Peterson and husband, George and Alex Chapman and wife, Jordan; and great-grandchild, Mason Chapman; and sister, Marie “Dink” Fallenstein.
