Mary Edith Ellenbogen

Mary Edith Treffinger Ellenbogen, 78, a resident of Lexington, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her residence. Mary was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 7, 1943 to the late Joseph and Edith Treffinger. She worked as a registered nurse while she served in the United States Air Force, then went on to teach Nursing at Fayetteville Technical Community College until her retirement. Mary was a kind and compassionate person. This compassion showed in her love for helping with the Relay for Life in Fayetteville. She loved her family very much, especially her grandkids and dogs. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Fischer.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home of Winston-Salem from 2-4PM.

Mary is survived by her children, Daniel Ellenbogen (Shelby) of High Point and Jennie Spease (Chad) of Lexington; a brother, David Treffinger (Judy) of Loogootee, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Kori, Zachary, Madeline, Tyler, and Leah.
