Mrs. Mary Hayes Fletcher, 74, of Popeye Lane, died Saturday, April 25, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 29 at the Rich Fork Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fletcher was born March 29, 1935 in Watauga County to James Alfonso and Anna Colvard Hayes. She was a homemaker and a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church. Her husband, James Leonard Fletcher, a son, Payne Ward, and a granddaughter, Michaela Lewis, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ward of Lexington, her step-sons, Steven Fletcher and wife, Lisa, and Scott Fletcher, and wife, Lynn, both of Lexington; her brothers, Bill Hayes, and wife, Carrie, of Monroe, James Hayes and wife, Beulah, of Boone, and Harold Hayes, and wife, Alta, of Florida; her sisters, Anna Summit of Lexington, and Elizabeth Kanupp and husband, David, of Claremont; and her grandchildren, Katherine Fletcher, and Dalton Fletcher, both of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
