Mary Alice Everhart Forrest, 77, of Hampton Street, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem after an illness of two weeks.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. David Shaffer. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Forrest was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Davidson County to John Luther Everhart and Effie Burkhart Everhart. She retired from Lexington Home Brands and was preceded in death by her brothers, Elwood Everhart, Willie Everhart and John Everhart, and a sister, Helen Weaver.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Berrier and her husband, David, Betty Kennedy and her husband, Don, and Debbie Long and her friend, Odell Smith, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Annette Ivey and her husband, Jeff, Sherry Fortenberry and her husband, Chris, Bryan Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Crystal Grant, Bryan Long and his wife, Melissa, and Steven Long; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Ivey, Chance Fortenberry, Ally Long, Cole Long, Jared Towery and Hunter Smith; and one sister, Alder Byerly of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of her daughter, Linda Berrier, 1011 Becky Hill Road, Lexington.
