On October 8, 1938 she married the love of her life, Harry Ernest Michael of Lexington, N.C. They established their home together on Rockway Drive. Mary Frances was the bookkeeper for the family business, Michael Plumbing for many years. She dedicated her entire life to her family. Her primary goal was to live her life through Christ. She was a charter member at Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ, taught the children’s Sunday school class for many years, a member of the Womens’s Guild, “the cook” for the Lion’s Club, head of the Bereavement committee, and she was the seamstress for all the church’s pageants, and other events at the church. In addition to being an excellent seamstress, she was a master gardener. She was known for her extraordinary home making abilities. The many meals that she would cook for her family would be numerous dishes at every meal. Her goal was to have each family member’s favorite dish. Countless hours were spent making each family member feel special in every possible way. Anyone that was lucky enough to know Mary Frances, knew what an amazing woman she was. There was never a day that went by that she didn’t give her all to everyone. Words could never do justice to the precious life she lived. Mary Frances’s memory will live in many hearts that she touched during her life. Mary Frances was born in Davidson County, November 22, 1921, the youngest of three children, to James Monroe Shoaf and Delia Frances Walser Shoaf.
