Mary Rhodes Goins

Mary Rhodes Goins, 80, of John Young Road, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Thomasville Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hedricks Grove United Church of Christ with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Goins was born April 25, 1929, in Davidson County, to Robert Lee Rhodes and Fallie Leonard Rhodes. She was retired from Sealy Mattress where she was a seamstress. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Junior Goins, who died December 18, 2007; and a sister, Irene Frank. Surviving are sons, Michael Goins and Scott Goins and wife, Tammy, all of Lexington; daughter, Kathy Gordan and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Jessica Goins and Melissa Gordon; and sisters, Rebecca Pleasant and Ruby Frank and husband, Donald. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington, NC 27292
