Mary Pauline Council Gray

Mary Pauline Council Gray, 95, of Hillside Drive, died Thursday, January 30,2014, at Lexington Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Psalm 91 Church with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and other times at the home. Mrs. Gray was born May 18, 1918, in Bladen County, to David Setzer Council and Lillie Hommonds Council. She was retired from Frank Ix and Sons and a member of North Lexington Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gray, who died March 9, 2000; two brothers; and three sisters. Surviving are son, Edward T. Gray of Lexington; daughter, Patricia Smith and husband Doug of Lexington; four grandchildren, Donna Smith, Graham Smith, Lisa Cornatzer and husband Neal, and Robert Shannon Gray; great-grandchild, Salem Cornatzer; and sisters, Lois Rhyne of Gastonia and Betty Hansel of York, SC.
