Mary Jacqueline Johnson Hartley, 79, of Clemmons, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the home of her son.
A private service will be held
Mrs. Hartley was born October 29, 1936, in Davidson County, to Kimball W. Johnson and Ella Kate Jones Johnson. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hartley was loved and will be missed by all. She was the original home chef and creamed corn will never be the same at family meals. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel F. Hartley, who died in 2004; a daughter, Cindy Louella Hartley; sons-in-law, Sam Hall and John Grose and grandson, Justin Hartley.
Surviving are sons, Forrest W. Hartley (Tamra) of Greensboro and Patrick Carson Hartley (Janice) of Lexington; daughters, Candy Grose of Clemmons and Jackie Hall of Mocksville; grandchildren, Katie Brewer (Greg) of Advance, John-Michael Grose (Diana) of Gilbert, Az., Brandi Hartley of Greensboro, Evan Hall of Raleigh, Ryan Hartley (Katy) of Kerrville, Texas, and Noah Hartley (Tessa) of Richmond, Va.; great-grandchildren, John-Hartley Brewer, Tate Brewer, Avian Hartley, Dallion Flowers, Grant Hartley, Henry Boone Hartley; and her loving dog, Beeker.
