Mary Cross Harvey, 84, of Sunnyside Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Vernon Richmeier. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Harvey was born in Davidson County Sept. 4, 1922, to Peter Lee Cross and Nannie Hulin Cross. She was a retired employee of United Furniture and a member of First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Harvey, who died in 1991; four brothers; and six sisters. Surviving are two sons, Billy Joe Cross and Jimmy Lynn Cross, both of Lexington; one daughter, Anna Fortner and her husband, Howard, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Kim Fortner, Angela Hartley, Chris Fortner and Jennifer Cross; four great-grandchildren, Brit and Brea Hartley and Cassie and Justin Fortner; and four sisters, Olive Boyd of Grays Lake, Ill., Evelyn Mayes and Jeanie Byerly, both of Lexington, and Betty Earwood of Murphy. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Anna Fortner, 519 Riverside Drive.
