Mary Hooks

Mrs. Mary Dagenhart Hooks, 96, of Lakewood Drive, died Monday, December 1 at Brookdale Falling Creek in Hickory.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 6 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Cheryl Skinner. The family will greet friends following the service.  A private burial will be held.

Mrs. Hooks will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

She was born April 22, 1929 in Iredell County to Lawrence Dagenhart and Clara Gannt Dagenhart. She retired from the Davidson County Health Department, where she served as a nurse for many years. Mary was an active member of First United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hooks; her brothers, David Dagenhart and Harold Dagenhart; and her sisters, Hilda Brower and Estelle Boggs.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews that cherish her memory.
