Mary " Ida" Laws Calhoun

Mary “IDA” Laws Calhoun, age 84, of Alston Brook Nursing Home, died Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Mrs. Calhoun was born December 20, 1929 in Swain County North Carolina, to Thomas Clinton Laws and Amanda DeHart Laws. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Lee Calhoun as well as ten of her siblings. Surviving are, four sons, Darrell Calhoun and wife Debra, Doyle Calhoun both of Lexington; Jason Calhoun of Advance, Joey Calhoun and wife Jamie of Virginia Beach Virginia; one daughter, Rebecca McNeil of Goldsboro North Carolina; one brother, Bill Laws; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be directed to The Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
