Mary Gobble Kinney

Mary Gobble Kinney, age 91 of NC Highway 8, Lexington passed away Tuesday (March 15, 2011) at Thomasville Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday (March 18, 2011) at New Testament Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating.  Burial will follow at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends at Davidson funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday night and at other times at the home.   Mary was born in Davidson County, October 14, 1919 to James Madison Gobble and Minnie Jane Gibbons Gobble.  She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.  She was a retired employee of Davidson County as a site manager for Senior Services. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ivan Delmar Kinney in 1975; her sons, Barry Kinney, Allen Kinney and Rodney Kinney; two grandsons, Todd Kinney and Roger Holmes; sisters, Edna Kinney, Grace Cope and Doshie Gobble; and brothers, Avery (Buck) Gobble and Elijah Gobble   Surviving are: one daughter, Darlene Holmes and husband Tommie of Lexington; one son, Jimmy Kinney and wife Barbara of Long Island, NY,; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
