Mary Virginia Leonard Koontz

March 4, 1925 — October 10, 2012

Mary Virginia Leonard Koontz, 87 of Happy Hill Rd., Lexington passed from this life, Wednesday October 10, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House after 1 year of failing health. A funeral service will be at 1pm Saturday October 13, 2012, at Reeds Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Dave Williams, Rev. Gary Foster and Leon Koontz officiating The family will receive friends from 7 to 9pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Happy Hill Rd. Mrs. Koontz was born in Davidson County to Hugh F. Leonard and Grace Michael Leonard. She was a homemaker. At Reeds Baptist Church she was a beloved Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by parents and husband, Belton B. Koontz. Surviving are sons, Stanley Koontz, and wife Margaret, Freddy Koontz and wife Rita and Roger Koontz and wife Pamela all of Lexington. Grandchildren Lori Koontz Michael and husband Charlie, Aaron Koontz and wife Jody, Phillip Koontz and wife Melody, Ashlee Koontz Moore and husband Brent, Darin Koontz Buchanan, Carin Koontz Ellis and husband Chris, Sabrina Koontz Beck and husband Brent all of Lexington, Shauna Koontz Cain and husband, Grant of GA. Wendy Koontz Sheets husband Stephen of Lexington, 24 Great Grandchildren, brother H. Lindsay Leonard and wife Phyllis of Lexington and sister, Edith Leonard Koonts of Lexington.
