Mary Alice Lawson

Mary Alice Goins Lawson 81, of Pine Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Lexington Health Care after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday November 29, 2014 at Beulah United Church of Christ where she was a member conducted by Rev. Trudy Irving and Rev. Aaron Long. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will see friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday November 28, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son 554 Pine Ridge Road. Alice was born August 10, 1933 in Stuart Va. to Sam Goins and Bertie Gammons Goins. She was retired from Burlington Industries and was preceded in death by her parents ,her step mother, Nellie Goins, her husband John Lawson, January 29, 2005; her daughter Janice Lawson Stepp, September 29, 2014;her sons in law, Allen Stepp and Shayne Emory; brothers, Harry, Walter, Bobby Goins; sisters, Carrie Bowman and Annie Laura Fain. She is survived by sons, Roger Dale Lawson ( Kathy) and Marvin Eugene Lawson (Ann) both of Lexington; daughter, Tammy Lorane Lawson Emory of Lexington; brothers, Andy Goins of Lexington, Clyde Goins of Stuart Va., Shirley Goins of Claudeville Va., Jerry Goins, Martinsville VA.; sisters, Rachel Davis of Los Angles, California, Virginia Easter and Iris Bryant of Mt. Airy, Frances Hughes and Linda Goins of Stuart Va.; Grandchildren, Jeremy Shane Lawson, Shannon Lee Lawson, Joshua Aaron Lawson, Jason Thad Allen, Jeremy Shawn Stepp, Rheannna Doree Stepp, Stephanie Michelle Lawson, Kelsey Shayne Emory, Koty Brianna Emory, Corey Aaron Emory; great-grandchildren, Catherine Taylor Lawson, Kaleb Trenton Allen, Katelynn Mackenzie Allen, Curtis Shayne Emory and Tristan Thad Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Crisis Ministry of Davidson County Noonan Homeless Shelter, 107 East First Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292.
