Mary Louise Divney Leffew

Mrs. Mary Louise Divney Leffew, 92, of Gene Hege Road, died Monday, June 22, 2026, at her home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Chapel, Lexington. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born on October 6, 1933, in Columbus, OH to the late Raymond Patrick and Margaret Catherine Lytle Divney.

Mrs. Leffew enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, flowers, and her animals. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family and those who knew her, affectionately called her “Granny”.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Leffew; three children, Steve Alan Leffew, Jeannie Louise Collins, and Francis Leffew; and three siblings, Donald Divney, Pat Divney, and Ann Divney.

Survivors include her children, Charlie G. Leffew, John W. Leffew (Shirley), David R. Leffew, Jonathon O. Leffew, David W. Leffew, Catherine Gordon, Elizabeth “Lisa” Coble (Edward), Pamela Church, Laura Leffew (Mark Martin); 13 grandchildren, a plethora of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
