Mary Parrott Lollis

Mary Parrott Lollis, 84, of Lexington Health Care and formerly of Westside Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Lexington Health Care after a serious illness of one month. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by Dr. Jim Martin and Amy Clodfelter. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Lollis was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Florence County, S.C., to W. Vigneron Parrott and Katherine McTaggart Parrott. She retired in 1983 as a medical secretary with the VA Medical Center in Salisbury in the Surgical Department. She was educated in the Florence, S.C., schools and graduated from Flora Macdonald College in Red Springs. She was a member or First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Council and Group II, serving as chairman for three years, and in the Stephen Ministry Program. She also was a member of the Fairview Garden Club, where she received life membership, and Samuel Bacot Chapter, DAR, in Florence S.C. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine O'Malley. Surviving are her husband, James Calvin Lollis Sr.; three sons, James Calvin Lollis Jr. of Olahe, Kan., John Ernest Lollis and his wife, Lynnette, of Lexington and Joel Parrott Lollis of Charlotte; two sisters, Sarah Montgomery of Florence, S.C., and Helen Kubala of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Justin Matthew Lollis, Courtney Leighanne Lollis, Lynnsey Brieanna Lollis and Katherine "Katie" Lollis of Maryland Heights, Mo. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at home on Westside Drive. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
