Mary Lou Warfford Smith

Mary Lou Warfford Smith, of Bryan Woods Lane, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, after declining health for one and a half years. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Howard G. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Smith was born December 16, in Davidson County, to Clifford “Buck” Warfford and Lemma Swicegood Warfford. She was retired from Lowes Foods where she had worked as a front end manager. She was a devoted member of the Davidson County Republican Party and loved Duke Basketball. Mrs. Smith enjoyed planning parties and other events for her family and friends, the holidays were her favorite time of year as she would wrap the perfect gift for her loved ones decorating each gift with homemade bows; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Garreth Warfford. Surviving are her loving husband, Bevelly Franklin Smith Jr. of the home; grandchild, Daniel Kirkman III; and other family members, Susan Sharpe, Regina Starbuck and husband Eddie, Amber Kirkman and husband Danny, Sarah Starbuck and husband Shad; and her special canine companion, Little Holly. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
