Mary Martin

Mary Sowers Martin, 71 of Delta Street, Lexington died Thursday May 1, 2008 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Martin was born February 24, 1937 in Davidson County to Vernie Sowers and Lenora Foster Sowers. Her parents founded The Rainbow Café which later became Speedy’s BBQ. Before retirement she was a RN at the Veteran’s Hospital in Durham Her Parents and a brother, Darrell Sowers preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband, Richard A. Martin of the home and a sister in law and brother in law, Diane and Jim Hinson of Georgia. The Family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm Monday and at other times at the home. Richard would like to thank Diane and Jim Hinson for all the love and kindness they have shown to them over the years.
