Mary Elizabeth Michael Shoaf, 89 a resident of Forest Hill Road, died Friday, July 4, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House of Winston Salem.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Frankie Matthews, Charles Shoaf and Larry Shoaf. A private burial will be held.
Mrs. Shoaf was born July 8, 1918 in Davidson County to Ernest Edgar and Effie Temple Michael. She was married July 11, 1936 to W. Frank Shoaf who preceded her in death on January 4, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Arlene M. Sink, and Inez M. Shoaf and her brothers, Cleveland Michael and James Michael.
She is survived by her four children, Charles F. Shoaf and wife, Carole, Elizabeth Ann Shoaf and Marilyn R. Silk and husband, John, all of Lexington and Larry E. Shoaf and wife, Brenda, of Virginia Beach, Va; her eight grandchildren; Charles E. Shoaf and wife, Pat, of Lexington, Joel Shoaf and wife, Beverly, of New Zealand, Lori Smith and husband, Larry, of Portsmouth, VA, Beth Davis and husband, Paul, of Tucson, AZ, Cathy Bryan and husband, Jim, and Cindy Rocamontes and husband, Richard, both of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jeffrey Shoaf, and wife, Tami, of Norfolk, VA, and Sandy Vlajk, and husband, Andre, of Suwannee, GA; 23 great grandchildren; and her two brothers, Harry Michael and Hoy Michael.
The family will receive friends following the service at Davidson Funeral Home.
