Mary Pickett Rhodes

Mrs. Mary Pickett Rhodes, 87, of Lakewood Drive, died Friday, August 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 10, at the First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Drs. Walter Patten and Lee Jessup. Burial will follow at the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church Parlor and other times at the home. Mrs. Rhodes was born December 24, 1922 in Davidson County to Ocko Pickett, Sr. and Mayme Springs Pickett. She was a homemaker and member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. Her husband, Kenneth Reid Rhodes, Sr., preceded her in death, as well as her brother, Ocko Pickett, Jr., who died in World War II. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Reid Rhodes, Jr., and Gary O. Rhodes and wife, Beth, both of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Emily Brooke Rhodes and Alec Landon Rhodes. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
