Mary Eleanor Rothrock, 71, of Lexington passed away early Friday morning, April 20, after an illness of three weeks. She was born on November 28, 1946 to Samuel A. and Mildred Rothrock. She was a life long member of Midway United Methodist Church.Surviving are her two sons, Thad and Corey, their wives, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren -Thad Martin, his wife Cindy, their three children Jennifer, Steve and Madison. Jennifer, her husband Chris Martin and their two children Taylor and Ruby Grace. Corey Martin, his wife Teresa and their five children Cody, Brandon, Brittany, Kacie and Brandon. She was most recently employed by Tyco Electronics. Prior to that she worked at Hanes and taught Preschool at Midway United Methodist Church. She loved her family, her cat, Otis, her granddogs Baxter and Theodore (belonging to Madison) and her convertible Ford Mustang. A private family visitation was held on Saturday, April 21 at Davidson Funeral Home on Hickory tree where Reverend Lynn Jordan delivered a eulogy commending her into God's hands. A graveside funeral will be conducted at 3 pm on Sunday, April 29 at Midway United Methodist Church, officiated by the Reverend Chuck Ireson. She resided at Brookdale assisted living of Lexington and lastly at The Hinkle Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be given to either organization.
