Mary Ruth Woodward Sechrest, 88, of Lexington made her heavenly transition on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at New Hope Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mason Todd officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mrs. Sechrest was born in Mount Croghan, SC on April 30, 1933, to Henry Shakespeare Woodward and Cornelia Hancock Woodward. She was retired from PPG, having been a supervisor and was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sechrest loved the Lord and always put her family before herself. She was such a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ruth Sechrest Sink; and seven brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 67 years, Bobby Eugene Sechrest; a son, Donnie Eugene Sechrest (Lisa); a son-in-law, Michael “Scott” Sink; seven grandchildren, Michael S. Sink, II (Kristina), Valerie Kulaif (Tiago), Jennifer Wyszkowski (Marco), Chad Sink (Mindi), Matthew Sink (Jessie), Donald “Buddy” Sechrest (Rachel), and Melanie Hogrefe (Matthew); and nineteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Hinkle Hospice House for their compassionate end of life care.
